Danzeno to miss Ayr Gold Cup says Mick Appleby
Danzeno, third favourite with some bookmakers for the William Hill Ayr Gold Cup, is not likely to take his opportunity.
With the ground drying out and rain prediction, coach Mick Appleby anxieties conditions are the Heritage Handicap of Saturday.
Appleby is content to wait for conditions later in the season, while it’s a blow to connections, provided the eight-year-old has returned to something approaching his very best form this year.
“I really don’t think he’s likely to go, the floor has dried up,” said Appleby.
“He would have run if the floor was good to soft. But it appears like it’s going to be great to business, and if that.
“It’s a real shame, because I think he would have had a excellent chance as he has come right back to shape.
“I have nothing particular in mind, (but) you will find a fair few races within the next few weeks we can take a look at for him.”
